There are a lot of aspects of the program I am enjoying but I must admit one of the best parts is the fact that Dr. Alex listens to me. Every visit is unique whether it is different exercises or me explaining my week of ups and downs mostly a combination of both. Each visit is created to make sure it is sustainable at home. I go into each session with my notebook full of questions and achievements; no matter how big or small my question it is answered, and my achievements are recognized sometimes he even points out achievements I missed. I never thought that I could fight this disease, I thought that once diagnosed that all I had to look forward to was the progression of the disease. Hopeless and helpless is all I could feel...Until I met Alex and he walked me through the process and he understood what I was going through. Its been a handful of months and I have decreased my meds and took up the game of gold, even after I was told I would never walk again without a walker!

I have always been on the bigger side and have fluctuated in weight ever since high school. There were times since then where I was in great shape and others when I just felt sloppy. I have always been an active person, so it was easy to lose weight when I was in my early 20’s. When I met Becky in my late 20’s the trend continued for the next 11-12 years, but it got much harder to lose weight and I would always get distracted and lose interest in the exercise plan I was doing at the time.

In late 2019 Becky was getting frustrated with the food and exercise plan she was on, so she decided to see a nutritionist. I knew she was frustrated with herself, so I fully supported her decision. Little did I know, that her decision would soon greatly impact my life also.

She started seeing Alex and changed her diet and exercise plan completely, it was working, and she always would ask me to workout with her. I would normally come up with some excuse like I just got back from a long work trip or its hard for me to start an exercise plan because I travel so much. This went on for about a month or two when one day I saw some pictures from a trip to South Dakota and realized that I was back at my high school football weight, which was okay for playing football at 18 but not for a 36-year-old sales manager. I saw what Becky was doing and just decided to start doing it with her, we started eating the same things and I started going to the gym or running 5 to 6 times a week. It was hard, but Becky really inspired me, and I just wanted to feel physically better.

The first few months were probably the hardest, but every time I wanted to quit Becky was there to say you can do a 45-minute workout it’s not that hard. After that it just became second nature, I kept on going to the gym and Becky would push me to try new things like boxing, kickboxing, and core/cardio training. This was a great help because it changes things up and keeps me interested. I felt good after the first 3 months, but after 6-8 months of working out and eating correctly, I felt amazing.

I am now at the point where I even work out at hotels when I am on the road for work, it just has become a part of my daily routine. It has been almost a year and 50 pounds lighter. I thank Becky every day for pulling the trigger on working with Alex and let her know that I feel so much better than I have for almost 20 years.
